Visible Light Transmission (VLT): The percentage of visible light that passes through a window film or tint. A higher VLT percentage means more light is transmitted, resulting in brighter interiors, while a lower VLT percentage means less light is transmitted, resulting in darker interiors.
Infrared Energy Rejection (IRER): The percentage of infrared energy (780 nm to 2500 nm) that is directly reflected, absorbed, and radiated outwards. The higher the number, the more infrared energy is reflected, absorbed, and released outwards. IRER is the endorsed calculation method of the International Window Film Association (IWFA).
UVA Energy Rejection (UVAER) and UVB Energy Rejection (UVBER): The percentage of ultraviolet A and B rays that are blocked by the film. High UVAER and UVBER rates indicate better protection from harmful UV rays, which can cause interior fading and skin damage.
